Yes, you read that right—breastmilk ice cream is a thing! And honestly, it’s kind of genius. Not only is breastmilk packed with immune-boosting goodness, it's also a super sentimental (and sustainable!) way to celebrate your lactation journey. Whether you're weaning, oversupplied, or just curious, making breastmilk ice cream is a fun way to turn liquid gold into a cool treat.

Before you cringe, hear me out: this is about reclaiming how we nourish our families, getting creative in the kitchen, and yes, even having a little fun with breastmilk. Plus—babies love it, toddlers think it's magic, and adults get to say, “Wait, this is breastmilk?!”

So let’s scoop into it!

Baby’s First Ice Cream (6 months & up) 🍨

This simple frozen treat is perfect for teething babies or as a first “dessert.”

Ingredients:

- 4 oz breastmilk (fresh or thawed)

- 1 ripe banana

- Optional: a pinch of cinnamon

Instructions:

1. Blend banana and breastmilk until smooth.

2. Pour into silicone molds or ice cube trays.

3. Freeze for 3–4 hours.

4. Pop out and serve! (Great in a mesh feeder if your baby’s still working on solids.)

💡 No banana? Try steamed and puréed pear, mango, or avocado

Breastmilk Ice Cream for Grown-Ups 😋

A dairy-free, no-churn recipe that’s as creamy and nostalgic as it is nutrient-rich. For lactating folks who want to celebrate or just clear out the freezer stash!

Ingredients:

- 1 cup breastmilk

- 1/2 cup canned coconut milk (for creaminess)

- 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (skip if sharing with baby!)

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- Optional mix-ins: berries, nut butter swirls, dark chocolate shavings

Instructions:

1. Blend all ingredients until smooth.

2. Pour into a shallow container or loaf pan.

3. Freeze for at least 4 hours, stirring every hour or so for a softer texture.

4. Let sit for a few minutes at room temp before scooping. Enjoy your miracle milk magic!

A Few Notes:

- Always label your ice cream clearly if it's in the family freezer!

- Use clean, safely stored breastmilk.

- This is a fun project, not a medical recommendation—check with your pediatrician if you have any questions about introducing frozen foods to your baby.
